Baltzersen's Cafe in Harrogate is offering something a little different!
Yorkshire sourced meets Scandinavian inspired. Simply furbished with a great vibe, all cakes and pastries are made fresh from scratch every day. Expect to pay around £10 for lunch, you will not leave hungry! Homemade soup, Norwegian stew and open sandwiches of meatballs, fried onion and lingonberry jam or flaked hot smoked salmon with lemon mayo, capers, cucumber and watercress all come with potato salad and house salad. I can recommend the Cinnamon Buns but you might want to share with a friend. If you fancy a finer dining experience, you could try their restaurant 'Norse' in the evening. They offer a tasting menu which I haven't yet tried but it is on my list. The head chef, Murray Wilson comes from good stock, a Masterchef finalist who has worked all over the world, more recently Claridges and the Michelin starred Yorke Arms in Ramsgill.
